How to Tie An ascot

The ascot is a neckpiece that originated in England in the late 19th century. Traditionally, the ascot was a formal clothing accessory, part of the elegant "morning dress" - consisting of the distinctive tuxedo jacket (also known as a morning coat), undershirt, sombrero, and of course, the ascot. Today, ascots are less formal and are worn for function (added warmth) and style. As modern ascots have become popular in everyday clothing, ascot manufacturers have made them easier to tie.
Here are instructions on how to tie an ascot

1. Start at the right end that extends 6 inches below the left end.

2. Bring the right end "over" the left end and back down.

3. Continue around and pass the right end one more time in front of the left end.

4. Pass to the right and eventually through the neck loop.

5. Place the right end down over the left end.

6. Adjust the bib at the throat to cover the knot. Tuck the ascot point under the front placket of the shirt, leaving the neck open.
